In the 2025–2026 school year, BCA will serve Kindergarten–4th grade. As our village continues to grow, we are seeking a Dean of Operations to serve as a key member of the leadership team, ensuring excellence across school operations so that our students, families, and staff thrive.

The Role:
The Dean of Operations (DOO) serves as the primary manager of all non-instructional functions of the school. Reporting to the Principal, the DOO is responsible for leading the operations team, ensuring compliance, and executing the systems that allow teachers to teach and students to learn at the highest level. This leader manages student recruitment, compliance, facilities, finance, human resources, communication, and all day-to-day school operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience:3+ years of school-level operations experience with leading HR, finance, and day-to-day operations for a school
- 1+ year of coaching experience for office managers/coordinators, facility and janitorial teams, etc.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with urgency and precision.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with families, staff, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Recruitment & Enrollment
- Develop and manage BCA recruitment goals, budget, and community partnerships.
- Design and oversee new student enrollment experiences, calendars, and orientation plans.
- Lead social media campaigns and marketing efforts, including messaging and materials.
- Ensure smooth enrollment processes at the beginning of the year and mid-year.
Data & Compliance
- Oversee district, state, and federal compliance (FTE reporting, testing, DOH reporting, transportation, etc.).
- Manage schoolwide data systems, including FOCUS (courses, schedules, attendance, grades).
- Maintain NSLP compliance, including applications, claims, inspections, and rosters.
- Develop and maintain the master calendar (events, testing, screenings).
Facilities & Safety
- Develop and execute the school’s facilities vision, ensuring all spaces are safe, functional, and welcoming.
- Oversee emergency management planning, compliance calendars, and reporting (fire, tornado, active assailant, evacuation drills).
- Manage the Raptor emergency platform and facility walkthroughs.
- Ensure timely reporting and resolution of facility needs and compliance inspections.
Finance & Procurement
- Maintain yearly budget compliance and oversee all purchasing processes.
- Approve purchase orders, invoices, reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations.
- Manage grant compliance (CSP, NSVF, Title I, II, IV, etc.).
- Partner with the school accountant and auditors to ensure audit, grant, and federal compliance.
- Oversee supply budgets and schoolwide ordering (curriculum, furniture, PD, technology).
School Systems & Operations
- Develop and maintain schoolwide daily systems for arrival, dismissal, late pick-up, uniform distribution, and technology checkouts.
- Manage escalated incident reports and ensure strong communication with staff/families.
- Oversee bus routes, schedules, and family communication related to transportation.
- Coordinate field trips, student activities, and classroom supply distribution.
Communication & Community Engagement
- Develop family-facing resources, including the Parent & Family Handbook.
- Lead parent communication cadence (newsletters, ParentSquare, calendars).
- Host school tours for donors, community partners, and educators.
- Manage vendor relationships and communication with service providers.
- Serve as the point of contact for escalated student/family concerns.
Events & Partnerships
- Develop annual staff and family event calendars in partnership with the leadership team.
- Oversee the Event Committee and coordinate the execution of internal and external events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners.
Human Resources
- Serve as the primary manager of the Operations Team.
- Oversee staff onboarding, offboarding, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability).
- Manage payroll and compensation processes (salary comps, stipends, calendar).
- Maintain teacher certification compliance and staff file documentation.
- Develop staff disciplinary and coverage systems, including substitutes.
- Update and manage the Staff Handbook annually.
