Becoming Collegiate Academy is Jacksonville’s first HBCU-inspired elementary school, founded to prepare students for success in college and life. At BCA, we don’t just teach—we inspire. In the 2026–2027 school year, BCA will serve Kindergarten–5th grade. As our village continues to grow, we are seeking a passionate and innovative STEAM Teacher to lead high-quality instruction in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, coding, robotics, and emerging technologies. This educator will play a critical role in preparing scholars for the future by fostering creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through hands-on, project-based learning experiences. The STEAM Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction that introduces students to coding, AI programs, digital literacy, and innovation while supporting the development of curiosity, confidence, and 21st-century learning skills.

The Role:

As the STEAM Teacher at Becoming Collegiate Academy, you will be responsible for designing and leading engaging learning experiences for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The ideal candidate is passionate about introducing elementary students to coding, robotics, engineering design, artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies through hands-on, project-based learning experiences.

The STEAM Teacher will create an engaging Innovation Lab environment where students build creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Responsibilities include integrating technology and STEAM experiences across grade levels, supporting teachers with technology integration, and preparing students for future-ready learning opportunities.

This role will also lead BCA’s STEAM Club and support the development of a competitive student technology team through programs such as Paws on Tech and other coding, robotics, and innovation competitions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • Experience: Experience teaching coding, robotics, computer science, of STEAM related courses with elementary aged children in a structured setting is preferred
  • Licenses or Certifications:
    • Florida Teaching Certification in Science or Technology (highly preferred)
    • Eligibility for certification will be considered
