Becoming Collegiate Academy is Jacksonville’s first HBCU-inspired elementary school, founded to prepare students for success in college and life. At BCA, we don’t just teach—we inspire. In the 2026–2027 school year, BCA will serve Kindergarten– 5th grade. As our village continues to grow, we are seeking a Math Interventionist to provide targeted academic support to students needing additional assistance in mathematics. This role provides an extra layer of instruction beyond the core classroom curriculum to ensure students meet grade-level expectations.
This position works in collaboration with classroom teachers, the instructional leadership team, and families to accelerate student reading growth.

The Role:
The Math Interventionist will work with small groups and individual students to address gaps in learning, support mastery of math standards, and foster a growth mindset. The interventionist will track student progress, coordinate with classroom teachers to align interventions, and provide personalized support to help students reach their academic goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Experience: At least two years of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
- Licenses or Certifications: Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (K-6 Elementary Education OR Middle Grades 5-9 Math)
- Strong understanding of grade-level math standards and assessment strategies
- Experience differentiating instruction and supporting diverse learners
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Student Support
- Provide targeted math interventions to students in small groups or individually based on data and teacher recommendations
- Support students in accessing grade-level standards using both direct instruction and blended learning resources
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs or 504 plans
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with classroom teachers to align interventions with the core curriculum
- Share student progress, challenges, and recommendations with teachers, instructional coaches, and families
- Participate in grade-level and data team meetings to inform intervention strategies
Assessment & Data
- Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions, student progress, and assessment data
- Analyze formative and summative data to identify students in need of additional support
- Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust instruction accordingly
